General Questions
How long does it take to build a Teach Eile home?
From starting groundworks to completion, we deliver your home in just 5 weeks. We're currently working towards a 5-week turnaround. This timeline includes all groundworks, construction, fitting, and finishing.
What's included in the price?
Everything except furniture. Your price includes all groundworks, foundations, structure, plumbing, electrics, sewage connections, fitted kitchen with appliances (70/30 Fridge Freezer, Electric Oven, Gas Hob, Extractor, Washing Machine), bathroom, flooring, painting, and exterior finishing. There are no hidden costs.
How much does it cost?
Our 1-bedroom homes start at €85,000 (VAT included) and our 2-bedroom homes are €115,000 (VAT included). Final pricing is confirmed after a site survey, as costs can vary based on distance from your main house and site conditions.
Where do you build?
We currently serve properties throughout the west of Ireland. Contact us to discuss your specific location.
Do I need to hire other contractors?
No. We handle everything in-house. You get one team, one point of contact, and one standard of quality throughout the entire build.
Process Questions
How do I get started?
Simply contact us through our website. We'll arrange an online consultation to assess your property, discuss your requirements, and provide a detailed quote.
What happens during a site survey?
We visit your property to assess site conditions, take measurements, discuss your specific needs, and answer any questions. The survey typically takes 1-2 hours. We'll then provide a comprehensive quote within 3-5 working days.
Can I customise my home?
Yes. Our homes come with a plain white interior, so you can decorate to your taste. We offer different kitchen worktop and unit styles, and optional extras like veranda overhangs. We'll discuss customisation options during your site survey.
What if I have problems after the build?
Your owner's manual includes a troubleshooting guide for common issues. We're also available for support after handover. Every system in your home comes with maintenance guidance and clear instructions.
Technical Questions
How energy efficient are the homes?
Very efficient. Every home features triple-glazed windows and doors, 250mm roof insulation, 150mm wall insulation, an air handling unit, and modern efficient heating systems. The airtight structure keeps heating costs low year-round.
What about maintenance?
Teach Eile homes are designed for low maintenance. The composite exterior cladding never needs painting, rot-proofing, or treatment. You'll receive a comprehensive owner's manual with maintenance schedules for all systems, including gutters, HVAC filters, and boiler servicing.
Are the homes built on-site or delivered?
Built on-site. We don't deliver modules by crane. Our team constructs your home from the ground up on your property, which gives us better quality control and allows for site-specific adjustments.
What foundations do you use?
We install a 150mm insulated concrete base as standard. This provides excellent thermal performance and a solid foundation for your home. All groundwork is included in our price.
